Elisa Garbil
Elisa Garbil is the Podcast Producer and Investigative Research Lead at The International Risk Podcast, where she leads on strategic editorial direction, in-depth research, and high-level stakeholder engagement. This role has sharpened her ability to operate at the intersection of investigative inquiry, strategic communications, and global risk analysis – delivering content that is timely, credible, and editorially rigorous.
Academically, Elisa holds a Double Master’s degree in International Relations and Security (VU Amsterdam) and Gender and Politics (University of Bath), as well as a Minor in Human Rights and International Law (VU Amsterdam) and a Bachelor’s degree in European Studies (Maastricht University). Her academic background has provided a solid foundation in policy analysis, international law, and intersectional frameworks.
She is fluent in English, French, and Dutch, and thrives in multilingual, cross-cultural environments. Her professional and academic experiences have honed her analytical, research, and data synthesis capabilities. Writing multiple advanced theses has strengthened her time management, organisation, and ability to deliver under pressure.
Elisa is especially passionate about working at the nexus of policy, research, politics, and equity, and is interested in researching political extremism, geopolitical conflicts, disinformation ecosystems, climate volatility, and the evolving landscape of radical and fringe movements.
She has published over 40 episodes and creates the Book Reviews and the bi-weekly newsletter.
