Robert Pratten

Robert Pratten is a UK-based entrepreneur, transmedia storyteller, and simulation specialist, best known as the founder and CEO of Conducttr, an immersive crisis-simulation and information-operations platform used by governments, defense organizations, and enterprises.

Originally trained in marketing and consultancy within the telecommunications sector, his background in narrative design became the foundation of his later work in transmedia storytelling, the structured use of story across multiple platforms to create coherent, immersive experiences.

He founded Transmedia Storyteller Ltd. and wrote the renowned practical guide Getting Started in Transmedia Storytelling, which helps define early best practices in the field. Over time, his work evolved from entertainment and engagement into serious simulation, applying storytelling techniques to realistic crisis exercises, hybrid-warfare scenarios, and influence-operation training.

Under Pratten’s leadership, Conducttr has developed into a platform capable of creating synthetic digital environments, including simulated social media, news ecosystems, and human actors. The whole package allows organisations to rehearse responses to complex crises, disinformation campaigns, and adversarial behaviour. His work brings narrative realism and system design to decision-makers in training -and seasoned ones.

Pratten also actively speaks on the ethical and operational challenges of artificial intelligence and information warfare. He regularly speaks at international conferences, appears on specialist podcasts, and publishes commentary on crisis preparedness, influence operations, and exercise design. He is also involved in the simulation standards community, contributing to interoperability and human-performance frameworks.
