Lucy Wark
Lucy Wark is an Australian two-time founder, social scientist from the University of Cambridge, and ex-McKinsey consultant based in Melbourne.
Wark co-founded two ventures: Normal, an Australian sextech company focused on inclusive, education-driven sexual wellness and one of several brands launched under health-tech group Eucalyptus; and Fuzzy, a career skills and negotiation platform she launched to help people, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds in tech and startups, build practical skills for negotiating job offers, promotions, raises, and navigating professional decisions, as well as stakeholder and project management.
Within her Substack centred on career strategy, Wark has recently created the series How Not To Lose Your Job, where she examines how AI is reshaping careers and labour markets in today’s volatile employment environments. She writes not as a trained economist, but as someone translating and synthesising rigorous labour research for a general professional audience, pushing back on both “AI jobs apocalypse” alarmism and uncritical techno-optimism in favour of what the evidence actually shows.
