Ibrahim Aboubacar HAMA
Ibrahim Aboubacar HAMA is an Environmentalist and Communication Specialist working on climate change adaptation, community engagement, and knowledge management across West Africa.
His work focuses on designing and managing climate change adaptation projects and promoting sustainable practices and resilience in vulnerable communities. His career has spanned agriculture extension and livestock management, gender equity, and stakeholder engagement, with a firm belief that inclusive and informed decision-making is essential to lasting, positive change. He is also deeply committed to bridging the gap between science and society, empowering individuals and communities with the information they need to make informed choices.
Alongside his project management expertise, Ibrahim has extensive experience coordinating national and regional programmes across the region, including social mobilization strategies and resource mobilization for organisations such as the GEF, the World Bank, and the European Union. He has coordinated the communication strategy and community engagement for the regional programme “Impact of Pesticides on Human Health” across Senegal, Mauritania, Guinea, Mali, Niger, and Benin, and has drafted communication and community engagement components for climate change adaptation projects in Niger, Mali, and Senegal.”
